The Perfect Retreat

Paca de Paja is a small, eco-friendly B&B in a Santa Fe-style strawbale home — a model of low impact, energy-efficient design. Organic foods, home-baked goods, fresh desert air, and a non-toxic home environment make it a healthy choice, even for chemically sensitive individuals. It is a relaxing retreat in a beautiful Sonoran Desert setting.

The thick walls, Antiguo tile, flagstone, and peeled beams are Southwest in architectural design. Inside, Mexican hand-carved furniture, SW Indian art, Talavera pottery, hand-painted tile, and Navajo rugs are reminiscent of Mexico and the Southwest.

Paca de Paja appeared in the August 2009 issue of Arizona Highways in their feature article Best of Arizona — 100 Favorites as the "Best Eco-Friendly Accommodation" in the state.
